The Science

NatureBiome™ does four things at every change:

Cleans — plant-powered cleansers that work with skin's microbiome, not against it.

Hydrates — prebiotics and humectants that restore moisture without disrupting the microbiome environment.

Comforts — pH 5.0–5.5, the range where your baby's skin is most comfortable and beneficial bacteria thrive.

Feeds the skin microbiome — two prebiotics nourish the beneficial bacteria your baby's skin is actively establishing, building a healthy foundation from the very first change.

That's functional skincare. That's NatureBiome™.

The skin microbiome is the living community of beneficial bacteria that establishes on your baby's skin from birth. It builds across the first two years — shaping skin resilience, barrier function, and long-term skin health.

Think of it like the gut microbiome. Except on your baby's skin. And right now — it's forming. What touches it most frequently during that window has the greatest influence. That's the wipe. Eight times a day. That's why Nest exists.

Prebiotics are food for bacteria. In your gut, fiber feeds the beneficial bacteria that keep you healthy. On your baby's skin, prebiotics feed the beneficial bacteria that build barrier function, support immunity, and create resilient skin.

Most wipes strip everything. Ours feed what should stay.

NatureBiome™ uses two prebiotics — inulin and alpha-glucan oligosaccharide — because one wasn't enough. Together they deliver complete prebiotic coverage at every change. The right science for developing skin.

The skin's microbiome environment is the protective barrier that forms on the skin's surface as it acidifies from near-neutral at birth toward the healthy acidic range of pH 5.0–5.5 over the first two years of life. A formula matched to this range works with your baby's skin as it naturally develops.

The optimal pH range for developing infant skin is 5.0–5.5. Most conventional baby wipes are formulated at pH 6.5–7.0 — significantly above this range.

Nest standard

Microbiome-matched pH 5.0–5.5, — the first mass-retail baby wipe specifically formulated to match the biology of developing skin.

Topical prebiotics are compounds applied to the skin surface that selectively feed and support beneficial bacteria already living there. Unlike probiotics — which introduce live bacteria — prebiotics create the optimal conditions for the skin's existing beneficial bacterial community to establish, diversify, and thrive.

NatureBiome™ is Nest Organic's proprietary dual-prebiotic system — combining inulin and alpha-glucan oligosaccharide to deliver prebiotic support with every wipe. Formulated at microbiome-matched pH 5.0–5.5.

The Products

Yes. Nest Prebiotic Baby Wipes and Nest Chlorine-Free Baby Diapers are formulated specifically for developing infant skin from birth. The wipes contain no parabens, phthalates, formaldehyde donors, musks, ethanolamines, glycol ethers, siloxanes, or fragrance. The diapers use chlorine-free pulp with no wetness indicator inks, no lotions, no coatings, and no fragrance.

A wetness indicator means adhesive inks printed on the material layer closest to your baby's skin. We looked at what that requires and decided against it.

Not a cost decision. A values decision. You'll know when the diaper needs changing.

Nest Chlorine-Free Baby Diapers are available in sizes 1 through 6 — $34.99 across all sizes. One price. Every size.

Yes. All Nest products are completely fragrance free. Fragrance has no place in a formula designed to support the developing skin microbiome.

vs. Other Brands

Most baby wipes are designed to remove. Nest is designed to build — the skin microbiome your baby is actively forming.

NatureBiome™ cleans, hydrates, comforts, and feeds developing skin with two prebiotics at every change, from day one. Thoughtful by design. Nothing hidden. Ingredients with purpose.

That's not a better wipe. That's a different category. Next generation skin health starts here.

Minimal-ingredient wipes are built around removal — as few ingredients as possible, designed to clean and leave. No prebiotic support. No microbiome function. That's a valid philosophy.

Nest asks a different question: what can the most-used product in baby care actually be building?

15 ingredients — every one with purpose — that clean, hydrate, comfort, and feed the skin microbiome. Nothing hidden. Ingredients with purpose.

Minimal-ingredient wipes

  • 1–2 ingredients
  • Removal focus
  • No prebiotic system
  • pH not published

Nest Organic

  • 15 ingredients — all explained
  • Dual-prebiotic system
  • pH 5.0–5.5

Clean ingredient positioning was an important moment for baby care. But a short ingredient list and a functional one aren't the same thing. Nest is formulated specifically around the biology of developing infant skin — dual-prebiotic system, microbiome-matched pH

Most baby wipes are reactive — you reach for them when there's a problem to clean up. They do their job and leave. Nest is designed to be proactive — every wipe, every change, supporting the beneficial bacteria already on your baby's skin before anything goes wrong.

It's not about what's wrong. It's about building what's right. That's the philosophical divide.

Certification & Testing

Nest Wipes contain 15 ingredients formulated around biological function, not habit or cost. NatureBiome™—a proprietary blend of inulin and alpha-glucan oligosaccharide—works with your baby's skin microbiome, maintaining its natural pH of 5.0–5.4. The substrate is lyocell, a plant-derived fiber gentler than synthetic alternatives. We exclude synthetic fragrances, alcohol, and harsh preservatives. Every ingredient earns its place by supporting microbiome health, not by disrupting it.

Ingredients & Safety

Nest Prebiotic Baby Wipes are fragrance-free, paraben-free, and formulated at pH 5.0–5.5 — the range that supports healthy skin barrier function. The NatureBiome™ dual-prebiotic system is designed to support the beneficial bacteria that help maintain a resilient skin surface. As with any new product, introduce gradually and consult your pediatrician if your baby has a diagnosed skin condition.

These statements have not been evaluated by the Food and Drug Administration. This product is not intended to diagnose, treat, cure, or prevent any disease.

Nest Prebiotic Baby Wipes use a three-part preservative system: Sodium Benzoate, Sodium Levulinate (derived from plant sugars), and Sodium Anisate (derived from anise). Using three preservatives together means each is used at a lower individual concentration than if it were preserving the formula alone. No single preservative carries more than its share.

All 15 ingredients — including the complete preservative system — are fully disclosed on the label and explained at nestorganic.com/pages/ingredients.

Probiotics introduce live beneficial bacteria to the skin — an approach with practical stability challenges in a product like a baby wipe. Prebiotics feed and support the bacteria already living on your baby's skin, helping them establish and thrive in their natural environment. Nest Organic uses a prebiotic approach — inulin and alpha-glucan oligosaccharide work with the skin's existing bacterial community rather than introducing new strains.

No. Nest Prebiotic Baby Wipes contain no parabens, phthalates, formaldehyde donors, musks, ethanolamines, glycol ethers, siloxanes, or fragrance. All 15 ingredients are disclosed on the label — explained, not hidden.
